So, we moved to Berlin.
Given the difficulty of moving a family to a foreign country, even for a year, it’s taken us a while to start recording our adventures. But as we’re leaving for a week in the Baltics tomorrow, we figured it was time to start. So, in the five weeks we’ve lived in Berlin here are some highlights and reflections.
The parks here are amazing. There are over 1500 of them. Here's Hazel at a few.
Dragon Park
Witch Park
Very Not Safe but Totally Worth it Tallest Rope Structure Park (pretty sure that's the name)
Our neighborhood cafe serves soft boiled eggs wearing little ski hats.
Kids get to swim naked or in their underwear in fountains. Adjacent to our flat is the famous Rüdesheimer Platz.
... or in the street.
But, DRINKING in the street is completely fine!
There is no AC here. Not anywhere. Here's Hazel wearing a hotel bathrobe and eating her pillow chocolate when we were very American and escaped to an American hotel to get a break from 90-100 degree weather that persisted for a solid two weeks.
Overall, we are doing well. Berlin is fascinating and big.
Hazel's spazzy essence has not been compromised.
